Amorite Kings Flee Before Joshua

Armored warriors thunder across the road in a horse-drawn chariot, racing past a fortified city as dust rises beneath the wheels and spears gather behind them. The scene portrays the panic of the Amorite forces after Joshua comes to the defense of Gibeon. Their royal chariot, decorated for war and crowded with armed men, becomes an image of human power in retreat before the covenant faithfulness of the Lord.

In Joshua 10, the kings of the Amorites unite against Gibeon, but Israel answers the call for aid. The biblical account emphasizes that the victory belongs to God: the enemy is thrown into confusion, pursued along the descent of Beth-horon, and struck down as Joshua presses the battle.
