Description
Mary holds the newborn Christ Child beneath an open heaven, while Joseph kneels in reverent wonder at her side. Above them, radiant angels descend through the clouds, proclaiming the glory of God over the birth of Jesus. Along the hillside, travelers from many walks of life make their way toward the holy family, turning the Nativity into a call for every generation to come and worship.
The composition draws on the announcement in Luke 2, where heavenly messengers declare good news of great joy, and on the wider Christmas proclamation that the Word became flesh. The manger is presented not only as a historical place in Bethlehem but as an invitation: the humble birth of the Savior gathers heaven and earth, rich and poor, ancient and present, into adoration.
