17 Şi, purtându-şi crucea, El a ieşit spre locul numit Locul Căpăţânii, pe evreieşte Golgota,18 unde l-au răstignit, şi pe alţi doi împreună cu El, de o parte şi de alta, iar pe Iisus în mijloc.19 Pilat a scris şi o inscripţie şi a pus-o pe cruce. Era scris: „Iisus nazarineanul, regele iudeilor”.20 Mulţi dintre iudei au citit această inscripţie, căci locul unde a fost răstignit era aproape de oraş; şi era scrisă în evreieşte, în latineşte şi în greceşte.21 Atunci marii preoţi ai iudeilor i-au zis lui Pilat: Nu scrie „regele iudeilor”, ci „acesta a zis: eu sunt regele iudeilor.”22 Pilat a răspuns: „Ce am scris, am scris.”23 După ce l-au răstignit pe Iisus, soldaţii i-au luat veşmintele şi le-au împărţit în patru, fiecărui soldat câte o parte. Apoi şi cămaşa; însă cămaşa nu avea cusătură, era ţesută dintr-o bucată, de sus până jos.24 Au zis, aşadar, unul către altul: „Să n-o sfâşiem, ci s-o tragem la sorţi, a cui să fie”; astfel s-a împlinit Scriptura care zice: Şi-au împărţit veşmintele mele între ei şi pentru cămaşa mea au tras la sorţi. Aşa au făcut soldaţii.25 Lângă crucea lui Iisus stăteau mama lui şi sora mamei lui, Maria lui Cleopa, şi Maria Magdalena.26 Atunci Iisus, văzând-o pe mama sa şi pe ucenicul care îl iubea stând alături de ea, i-a spus mamei sale: „Femeie, iată fiul tău!”27 Apoi i-a spus ucenicului: „Iată mama ta!” Şi din ceasul acela a luat-o la el.28 După aceea, ştiind Iisus că toate s-au săvârşit acum, ca să se împlinească Scriptura a spus: „Mi-e sete!”29 Era acolo un vas plin cu oţet; au pus în jurul unei ramuri de isop un burete îmbibat cu oţet şi l-au apropiat de gura lui.30 Deci, când a luat oţetul, Iisus a zis: „S-a săvârşit!” şi, plecându-şi capul, şi-a dat duhul.31 Aşadar, pentru că era ziua de pregătire, ca să nu rămână trupurile pe cruce sâmbăta, pentru că ziua acelei sâmbete era mare, iudeii l-au rugat pe Pilat să li se zdrobească fluierele picioarelor şi să fie daţi jos.32 Au venit deci soldaţii şi i-au zdrobit picioarele celui dintâi, apoi ale celui răstignit lângă El.33 Dar, când au ajuns la Iisus, când au văzut că deja murise, nu i-au mai zdrobit picioarele,34 ci unul dintre soldaţi i-a străpuns coasta cu suliţa şi îndată a ieşit sânge şi apă.35 Şi cel care a văzut a dat mărturie şi mărturia lui e adevărată. Şi el ştie că spune adevărul, ca şi voi să credeţi.36 Fiindcă acestea s-au petrecut ca să se împlinească Scriptura: Nici un os nu i se va zdrobi.37 Şi altă Scriptură zice: Îl vor vedea pe cel pe care l-au străpuns.38 Apoi, Iosif din Arimateea, care era ucenic al lui Iisus, dar pe ascuns, de frica iudeilor, l-a rugat pe Pilat să îl lase să ia trupul lui Iisus. Şi Pilat i-a îngăduit. A venit deci şi i-a luat trupul.39 A venit şi Nicodim, cel care venise la Iisus noaptea, mai înainte, aducând un amestec de smirnă şi aloe ca la o sută de litre.40 Au luat deci trupul lui Iisus şi l-au înfăşurat în giulgiuri cu miresme, precum este obiceiul iudeilor să înmormânteze.41 În locul unde fusese răstignit era o grădină, iar în grădină era un mormânt nou, în care nu mai fusese pus nimeni.42 Aşadar, pentru că era ziua de pregătire a iudeilor, l-au pus pe Iisus acolo, fiindcă mormântul era aproape.
John 20
1 În prima zi după sâmbătă Maria Magdalena a mers în zori, când era încă întuneric, şi a văzut piatra luată de pe mormânt.2 A alergat deci şi s-a dus la Simon Petru şi la celălalt ucenic, pe care îl iubea Iisus, şi le-a zis: „L-au luat pe Domnul din mormânt şi nu ştim unde l-au pus.”3 Petru a ieşit cu celălalt ucenic şi s-au dus la mormânt.4 Alergau amândoi, dar celălalt ucenic a alergat înainte, mai repede decât Petru, şi a ajuns cel dintâi la mormânt.5 Şi când s-a aplecat a văzut giulgiurile pe jos, dar nu a intrat.6 În urma lui a sosit şi Simon Petru şi a intrat în mormânt şi s-a uitat la giulgiurile puse jos.7 Linţoliul care fusese pe capul lui Iisus nu era pus împreună cu giulgiurile, ci deoparte, înfăşurat într-un loc.8 Atunci a intrat şi celălalt ucenic, care ajunsese cel dintâi la mormânt. Şi a văzut şi a crezut.9 Pentru că nu ştiau încă Scriptura, că El trebuia să învie din morţi.10 Ucenicii au plecat apoi acasă.11 Iar Maria stătea afară lângă mormânt şi plângea. Şi, pe când plângea, s-a aplecat spre mormânt.12 Şi a văzut doi îngeri în veşminte albe, aşezaţi unul la cap şi celălalt la picioare, unde fusese aşezat trupul lui Iisus.13 Ei i-au spus: „Femeie, de ce plângi?” Ea le-a răspuns: „L-au luat pe Domnul meu şi nu ştiu unde l-au pus.”14 Zicând acestea, s-a întors şi l-a văzut pe Iisus stând. Dar mergi la fraţii mei şi spune-le: Mă sui la Tatăl meu şi la Tatăl vostru, la Dumnezeul meu şi Dumnezeul vostru.”18 Maria Magdalena a venit să le vestească ucenicilor: „L-am văzut pe Domnul şi mi-a spus aceasta.”
Luke 23
26 And as they led him away, they seized one Simon of Cyrene, who was coming in from the country, and laid on him the cross, to carry it behind Jesus.27 And there followed him a great multitude of the people and of women who were mourning and lamenting for him.28 But turning to them Jesus said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.29 For behold, the days are coming when they will say, ‘Blessed are the barren and the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed!’30 Then they will begin to say to the mountains, ‘Fall on us,’ and to the hills, ‘Cover us.’31 For if they do these things when the wood is green, what will happen when it is dry?”32 Two others, who were criminals, were led away to be put to death with him.33 And when they came to the place that is called The Skull, there they crucified him, and the criminals, one on his right and one on his left.34 And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” And they cast lots to divide his garments.35 And the people stood by, watching, but the rulers scoffed at him, saying, “He saved others; let him save himself, if he is the Christ of God, his Chosen One!”36 The soldiers also mocked him, coming up and offering him sour wine37 and saying, “If you are the King of the Jews, save yourself!”38 There was also an inscription over him, “This is the King of the Jews.”39 One of the criminals who were hanged railed at him, saying, “Are you not the Christ? Save yourself and us!”40 But the other rebuked him, saying, “Do you not fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation?41 And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.”42 And he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”43 And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”44 It was now about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour,45 while the sun's light failed. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two.46 Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!” And having said this he breathed his last.47 Now when the centurion saw what had taken place, he praised God, saying, “Certainly this man was innocent!”48 And all the crowds that had assembled for this spectacle, when they saw what had taken place, returned home beating their breasts.49 And all his acquaintances and the women who had followed him from Galilee stood at a distance watching these things.50 Now there was a man named Joseph, from the Jewish town of Arimathea. He was a member of the council, a good and righteous man,51 who had not consented to their decision and action; and he was looking for the kingdom of God.52 This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus.53 Then he took it down and wrapped it in a linen shroud and laid him in a tomb cut in stone, where no one had ever yet been laid.54 It was the day of Preparation, and the Sabbath was beginning.55 The women who had come with him from Galilee followed and saw the tomb and how his body was laid.56 Then they returned and prepared spices and ointments. On the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment.
Luke 24
1 But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared.2 And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb,3 but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.4 While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel.5 And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?6 He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee,7 that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise.”

21 And they compelled a passerby, Simon of Cyrene, who was coming in from the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to carry his cross.22 And they brought him to the place called Golgotha (which means Place of a Skull).23 And they offered him wine mixed with myrrh, but he did not take it.24 And they crucified him and divided his garments among them, casting lots for them, to decide what each should take.25 And it was the third hour when they crucified him.26 And the inscription of the charge against him read, “The King of the Jews.”27 And with him they crucified two robbers, one on his right and one on his left.29 And those who passed by derided him, wagging their heads and saying, “Aha! You who would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days,30 save yourself, and come down from the cross!”31 So also the chief priests with the scribes mocked him to one another, saying, “He saved others; he cannot save himself.32 Let the Christ, the King of Israel, come down now from the cross that we may see and believe.” Those who were crucified with him also reviled him.33 And when the sixth hour had come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” which means, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”35 And some of the bystanders hearing it said, “Behold, he is calling Elijah.”36 And someone ran and filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on a reed and gave it to him to drink, saying, “Wait, let us see whether Elijah will come to take him down.”37 And Jesus uttered a loud cry and breathed his last.38 And the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom.39 And when the centurion, who stood facing him, saw that in this way he breathed his last, he said, “Truly this man was the Son of God!”40 There were also women looking on from a distance, among whom were Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the younger and of Joses, and Salome.41 When he was in Galilee, they followed him and ministered to him, and there were also many other women who came up with him to Jerusalem.42 And when evening had come, since it was the day of Preparation, that is, the day before the Sabbath,43 Joseph of Arimathea, a respected member of the Council, who was also himself looking for the kingdom of God, took courage and went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus.44 Pilate was surprised to hear that he should have already died. And summoning the centurion, he asked him whether he was already dead.45 And when he learned from the centurion that he was dead, he granted the corpse to Joseph.46 And Joseph bought a linen shroud, and taking him down, wrapped him in the linen shroud and laid him in a tomb that had been cut out of the rock. And he rolled a stone against the entrance of the tomb.47 Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses saw where he was laid.

1 When the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James and Salome bought spices, so that they might go and anoint him.2 And very early on the first day of the week, when the sun had risen, they went to the tomb.3 And they were saying to one another, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?”4 And looking up, they saw that the stone had been rolled back—it was very large.5 And entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed in a white robe, and they were alarmed.6 And he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him.7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you to Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.”8 And they went out and fled from the tomb, for trembling and astonishment had seized them, and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid. Then Pilate ordered it to be given to him.59 And Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen shroud60 and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had cut in the rock. And he rolled a great stone to the entrance of the tomb and went away.61 Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were there, sitting opposite the tomb.62 The next day, that is, after the day of Preparation, the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered before Pilate63 and said, “Sir, we remember how that impostor said, while he was still alive, ‘After three days I will rise.’64 Therefore order the tomb to be made secure until the third day, lest his disciples go and steal him away and tell the people, ‘He has risen from the dead,’ and the last fraud will be worse than the first.”65 Pilate said to them, “You have a guard of soldiers. Go, make it as secure as you can.”66 So they went and made the tomb secure by sealing the stone and setting a guard.
Matthew 28
1 Now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb.2 And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it.3 His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow.4 And for fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men.5 But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.6 He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. See, I have told you.”8 So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples.9 And behold, Jesus met them and said, “Greetings!” And they came up and took hold of his feet and worshiped him.10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee, and there they will see me.”
