17 and he went out, bearing his own cross, to the place called The Place of a Skull, which in Aramaic is called Golgotha.18 There they crucified him, and with him two others, one on either side, and Jesus between them.19 Pilate also wrote an inscription and put it on the cross. It read, “Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews.”20 Many of the Jews read this inscription, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, and it was written in Aramaic, in Latin, and in Greek.21 So the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, “Do not write, ‘The King of the Jews,’ but rather, ‘This man said, I am King of the Jews.’”22 Pilate answered, “What I have written I have written.”23 When the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they took his garments and divided them into four parts, one part for each soldier; also his tunic. But the tunic was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom,24 so they said to one another, “Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it to see whose it shall be.” This was to fulfill the Scripture which says, “They divided my garments among them, and for my clothing they cast lots.” So the soldiers did these things,25 but standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.26 When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son!”27 Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” And from that hour the disciple took her to his own home.28 After this, Jesus, knowing that all was now finished, said (to fulfill the Scripture), “I thirst.”29 A jar full of sour wine stood there, so they put a sponge full of the sour wine on a hyssop branch and held it to his mouth.30 When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.31 Since it was the day of Preparation, and so that the bodies would not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken and that they might be taken away.32 So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first, and of the other who had been crucified with him.33 But when they came to Jesus and saw that he was already dead, they did not break his legs.34 But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and at once there came out blood and water.35 He who saw it has borne witness—his testimony is true, and he knows that he is telling the truth—that you also may believe.36 For these things took place that the Scripture might be fulfilled: “Not one of his bones will be broken.”37 And again another Scripture says, “They will look on him whom they have pierced.”38 After these things Joseph of Arimathea, who was a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus, and Pilate gave him permission. So he came and took away his body.39 Nicodemus also, who earlier had come to Jesus by night, came bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about seventy-five pounds in weight.40 So they took the body of Jesus and bound it in linen cloths with the spices, as is the burial custom of the Jews.41 Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb in which no one had yet been laid.42 So because of the Jewish day of Preparation, since the tomb was close at hand, they laid Jesus there.
John 20
1 Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb.2 So she ran and went to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him.”3 So Peter went out with the other disciple, and they were going toward the tomb.4 Both of them were running together, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first.5 And stooping to look in, he saw the linen cloths lying there, but he did not go in.6 Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb. He saw the linen cloths lying there,7 and the face cloth, which had been on Jesus' head, not lying with the linen cloths but folded up in a place by itself.8 Then the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw and believed;9 for as yet they did not understand the Scripture, that he must rise from the dead.10 Then the disciples went back to their homes.11 But Mary stood weeping outside the tomb, and as she wept she stooped to look into the tomb.12 And she saw two angels in white, sitting where the body of Jesus had lain, one at the head and one at the feet.13 They said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “They have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid him.”14 Having said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing, but she did not know that it was Jesus.15 Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?” Supposing him to be the gardener, she said to him, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.”16 Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned and said to him in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which means Teacher).17 Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”18 Mary Magdalene went and announced to the disciples, “I have seen the Lord”—and that he had said these things to her.
Luke 23
26 And as they led him away, they seized one Simon of Cyrene, who was coming in from the country, and laid on him the cross, to carry it behind Jesus.27 And there followed him a great multitude of the people and of women who were mourning and lamenting for him.28 But turning to them Jesus said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.29 For behold, the days are coming when they will say, ‘Blessed are the barren and the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed!’30 Then they will begin to say to the mountains, ‘Fall on us,’ and to the hills, ‘Cover us.’31 For if they do these things when the wood is green, what will happen when it is dry?”32 Two others, who were criminals, were led away to be put to death with him.33 And when they came to the place that is called The Skull, there they crucified him, and the criminals, one on his right and one on his left.34 And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” And they cast lots to divide his garments.35 And the people stood by, watching, but the rulers scoffed at him, saying, “He saved others; let him save himself, if he is the Christ of God, his Chosen One!”36 The soldiers also mocked him, coming up and offering him sour wine37 and saying, “If you are the King of the Jews, save yourself!”38 There was also an inscription over him, “This is the King of the Jews.”39 One of the criminals who were hanged railed at him, saying, “Are you not the Christ? Save yourself and us!”40 But the other rebuked him, saying, “Do you not fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation?41 And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.”42 And he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”43 And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”44 It was now about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour,45 while the sun's light failed. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two.46 Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!” And having said this he breathed his last.47 Now when the centurion saw what had taken place, he praised God, saying, “Certainly this man was innocent!”48 And all the crowds that had assembled for this spectacle, when they saw what had taken place, returned home beating their breasts.49 And all his acquaintances and the women who had followed him from Galilee stood at a distance watching these things.50 Now there was a man named Joseph, from the Jewish town of Arimathea. He was a member of the council, a good and righteous man,51 who had not consented to their decision and action; and he was looking for the kingdom of God.52 This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus.53 Then he took it down and wrapped it in a linen shroud and laid him in a tomb cut in stone, where no one had ever yet been laid.54 It was the day of Preparation, and the Sabbath was beginning.55 The women who had come with him from Galilee followed and saw the tomb and how his body was laid.56 Then they returned and prepared spices and ointments. On the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment.
Luke 24
1 But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared.2 And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb,3 but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.4 While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel.5 And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?6 He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee,7 that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise.”

21 Şi au silit pe un trecător, Simon din Cirene, care venea de la câmp, tatăl lui Alexandru şi Rufus, să-i poarte crucea.22 Şi l-au dus la locul numit Golgota, care se traduce Locul Căpăţânii.23 Şi i-au dat să bea vin amestecat cu smirnă, dar El nu a luat.24 Apoi l-au răstignit şi şi-au împărţit hainele aruncând sorţii pentru ele, ca să vadă care ce să ia.25 Şi când l-au răstignit era ceasul al treilea.26 Iar pricina răstignirii lui era scrisă deasupra: „Regele iudeilor!”27 Şi împreună cu El au răstignit doi tâlhari, unul la dreapta şi altul la stânga lui.29 Iar trecătorii îl huleau, plecându-şi capetele şi zicând: „Vai, tu, cel ce distruge Templul şi-l zideşte la loc în trei zile,30 mântuieşte-te pe tine însuţi şi coboară de pe cruce.”31 La fel şi marii preoţi îşi băteau joc între ei, împreună cu cărturarii, zicând: „Pe alţii i-a mântuit, dar pe sine nu se poate mântui.32 Hristos, regele lui Israel, să coboare acum de pe cruce, ca să vedem şi să credem!” Şi cei răstigniţi împreună cu El îşi băteau joc de El.33 Şi când a venit ceasul al şaselea s-a făcut întuneric peste întreg pământul până la ceasul al nouălea.34 Iar în ceasul al nouălea, Iisus a strigat cu glas puternic: „Eloi, Eloi, lema sabahthani?” care tradus înseamnă: „Dumnezeul meu, Dumnezeul meu, de ce m-ai părăsit?”35 Cei ce stăteau acolo, când au auzit, au zis: „Iată, îl strigă pe Ilie.”36 Şi a fugit unul din ei şi, umplând un burete cu oţet, l-a pus într-o trestie şi i-a dat să bea, zicând: „Lăsaţi să vedem dacă vine Ilie să-l coboare de pe cruce.”37 Iar Iisus, strigând puternic, şi-a dat duhul.38 Atunci perdeaua Templului s-a sfâşiat în două de sus până jos.39 Iar centurionul care stătea lângă El, văzând că şi-a dat duhul, a zis: „Cu adevărat, acest om era Fiul lui Dumnezeu!”40 Erau acolo şi femei care priveau de departe, între care şi Maria Magdalena, Maria a lui Iacov cel mic şi mama lui Iosie şi Salomeea,41 cele care, pe când era în Galileea, îl urmau şi îi slujeau, şi multe altele care veniseră cu El la Ierusalim.42 Şi când s-a făcut seară, fiindcă era vineri, care este înaintea sâmbetei,43 Iosif din Arimateea, un sfetnic bine-văzut, care aştepta şi el Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu, s-a dus şi, îndrăznind să intre la Pilat, a cerut trupul lui Iisus.44 Pilat s-a mirat că Iisus era deja mort şi a chemat un centurion să-l întrebe dacă a murit de mult.45 Aflând de la centurion că Iisus a murit, i-a dat lui Iosif trupul.46 Şi el a cumpărat un giulgiu, a coborât trupul lui Iisus şi l-a învelit în giulgiu. Apoi l-a aşezat într-un mormânt, care era săpat în piatră, şi a prăvălit o piatră peste uşa mormântului.47 Iar Maria Magdalena şi Maria a lui Iose priveau unde l-au pus.

1 După ce a trecut ziua sâmbetei, Maria Magdalena şi Maria a lui Iacov şi Salomeea au cumpărat miresme ca să vină să-l ungă.2 Şi, în prima zi de după sâmbătă, au venit la mormânt foarte de dimineaţă, pe când răsărea soarele.3 Şi se întrebau între ele aşa: „Oare cine ne va răsturna piatra de pe uşa mormântului?”4 Căci piatra era foarte mare. Dar când şi-au ridicat ochii, au văzut că fusese răsturnată.5 Iar când au intrat în mormânt au văzut şezând la dreapta un tânăr îmbrăcat în veşmânt alb şi s-au înspăimântat.6 Dar el le-a zis: „Nu vă înspăimântaţi! Pe Iisus Nazarineanul cel răstignit îl căutaţi: a înviat, nu este aici! Iată locul unde l-au pus.7 Dar mergeţi să spuneţi ucenicilor lui şi lui Petru că va merge înaintea voastră în Galileea; acolo îl veţi vedea, după cum v-a spus.”8 Şi ele au ieşit şi au fugit de la mormânt, pentru că le era foarte frică şi se minunau. Şi n-au spus nimănui nimic fiindcă se temeau.
Matthew 27
32 Pe când ieşeau afară din cetate, au întâlnit un om din Cirene, numit Simon, şi l-au silit să ducă crucea lui Iisus.33 Când au ajuns la un loc numit Golgota, care înseamnă: „Locul căpăţânii”34 i-au dat să bea vin amestecat cu fiere, dar El gustând, n-a vrut să bea.35 După ce l-au răstignit, i-au împărţit hainele între ei, trăgând la sorţi, ca să se împlinească ce fusese vestit prin profetul care zice: Şi-au împărţit hainele mele între ei şi pentru cămaşa mea au tras la sorţi.36 Apoi s-au aşezat şi-l păzeau.37 Şi i-au scris deasupra capului vina: „Acesta este Iisus, regele iudeilor.”38 Împreună cu El, au fost răstigniţi doi tâlhari: unul la dreapta şi celălalt la stânga lui.39 Trecătorii îşi băteau joc de El, dădeau din cap40 şi ziceau: „Tu, care strici Templul, şi-l zideşti la loc în trei zile, mântuieşte-te pe tine însuţi! Dacă eşti Tu Fiul lui Dumnezeu, coboară de pe cruce!”41 Marii preoţi împreună cu cărturarii şi bătrânii îşi băteau şi ei joc de El şi ziceau:42 „Pe alţii i-a mântuit, dar pe El însuşi nu se poate mântui! Dacă este El regele lui Israel, să se coboare acum de pe cruce şi vom crede în El!43 S-a încrezut în Dumnezeu: să-l scape acum Dumnezeu, dacă-l iubeşte, pentru că a zis: Eu sunt Fiul lui Dumnezeu!”44 Tâlharii care erau răstigniţi împreună cu El îi aruncau aceleaşi cuvinte de batjocură.45 De la ceasul al şaselea până la ceasul al nouălea s-a făcut întuneric peste toată ţara.46 Şi pe la ceasul al nouălea, Iisus a strigat cu glas puternic: „Eli, Eli, lema sabahtani?” adică: „Dumnezeul meu, Dumnezeul meu, pentru ce m-ai părăsit?”47 Unii dintre cei ce stăteau acolo, când au auzit aceste vorbe, au zis: „Îl strigă pe Ilie!”48 Şi îndată, unul dintre ei a alergat de a luat un burete, l-a umplut cu oţet, l-a pus într-o trestie şi i-a dat să bea.49 Dar ceilalţi ziceau: „Lasă, să vedem dacă va veni Ilie să-l mântuiască.”50 Iisus a strigat iarăşi cu glas tare şi şi-a dat duhul.51 Şi deodată perdeaua dinăuntrul Templului s-a rupt în două, de sus până jos, pământul s-a cutremurat, stâncile s-au despicat,52 mormintele s-au deschis şi multe trupuri ale sfinţilor care muriseră au înviat.53 Ei au ieşit din morminte după învierea lui, au intrat în Cetatea sfântă şi s-au arătat multora.54 Centurionul şi cei care-l păzeau pe Iisus împreună cu el, când au văzut cutremurul de pământ şi cele întâmplate, s-au înfricoşat foarte tare şi au zis: „Cu adevărat acesta a fost Fiul lui Dumnezeu!”55 Erau acolo şi multe femei care priveau de departe. Ele îl urmaseră pe Iisus din Galileea, ca să-i slujească.56 Între ele era Maria Magdalena, Maria, mama lui Iacov şi a lui Iose, şi mama fiilor lui Zebedeu.57 Spre seară, a venit un om bogat din Arimateea, numit Iosif, care era şi el ucenic al lui Iisus.58 El s-a dus la Pilat şi a cerut trupul lui Iisus. Pilat a poruncit să i-l dea.59 Iosif a luat trupul, l-a înfăşurat într-un giulgiu curat60 şi l-a pus într-un mormânt nou, pe care-l săpase în stâncă. Apoi a prăvălit o piatră mare la intrarea mormântului şi a plecat.61 Maria Magdalena şi cealaltă Marie erau acolo şi şedeau în faţa mormântului.62 A doua zi, care vine după ziua Pregătirii, marii preoţi şi fariseii s-au dus împreună la Pilat63 şi i-au zis: „Doamne, ne-am adus aminte că înşelătorul acela, pe când era încă în viaţă, a zis: După trei zile voi învia!64 Dă poruncă deci ca mormântul să fie păzit bine până a treia zi, ca nu cumva să vină ucenicii lui noaptea să-i fure trupul şi să spună poporului: A înviat din morţi! Atunci înşelăciunea aceasta din urmă ar fi mai rea decât cea dintâi.”65 Pilat le-a zis: „Aveţi o strajă; duceţi-vă de păziţi cum puteţi.”66 Ei au plecat şi au întărit mormântul, pecetluind piatra şi punând strajă.
Matthew 28
1 Când sâmbăta era pe sfârşite şi începea să se lumineze de ziua dintâi a săptămânii, Maria Magdalena şi cealaltă Marie au venit să vadă mormântul.2 Şi iată că s-a făcut un mare cutremur de pământ, fiindcă un înger al Domnului a coborât din cer, a venit şi a răsturnat piatra de la uşa mormântului şi s-a aşezat pe ea.3 Înfăţişarea lui era ca fulgerul, iar îmbrăcămintea lui albă ca zăpada.4 Străjerii au tremurat de frica lui şi au rămas ca nişte morţi.5 Dar îngerul a luat cuvântul şi le-a zis femeilor: „Nu vă temeţi, fiindcă ştiu că îl căutaţi pe Iisus, care a fost răstignit.6 Nu este aici, a înviat, după cum a zis. Veniţi de vedeţi locul unde zăcea Domnul7 şi duceţi-vă repede de spuneţi ucenicilor lui că a înviat dintre cei morţi. Iată, El merge înaintea voastră în Galileea. Acolo îl veţi vedea. Iată că v-am spus lucrul acesta.”8 Ele au plecat repede de la mormânt, cu frică şi cu mare bucurie, şi au alergat să dea de veste ucenicilor lui.9 Dar iată că le-a întâmpinat Iisus şi le-a zis: „Bucuraţi-vă!” Ele s-au apropiat să-i cuprindă picioarele şi i s-au închinat.10 Atunci Iisus le-a zis: „Nu vă temeţi! Duceţi-vă de spuneţi fraţilor mei să meargă în Galileea; acolo mă vor vedea.”
