Description
Jewish families return from exile with donkeys, baskets, water jars, and gathered children as they enter a sunlit settlement of white houses and palms. The travelers carry household goods and greet one another with the energy of restoration, presenting the biblical homecoming after the Babylonian captivity. The scene reflects the decree recorded in Ezra, when the Lord stirred the spirit of Cyrus and moved the exiles to go up to Judah and rebuild the house of the Lord in Jerusalem. Beyond a journey across land, the return marks covenant mercy: judgment gives way to renewal, scattered families become a gathered people, and ordinary homes and burdens become part of God’s work of restoration.
