1 " Şi de câte a făcut El celor doi regi ai Amoreilor, care erau dincolo de Iordan, lui Sihon, regele Heşbonului şi lui Og, regele Vasanului, care locuia în Aştarot şi Edrea.2 Şi auzind acestea, bătrânii noştri şi toţi locuitorii ţării noastre ne-au grăit şi au zis: Luaţi-vă merinde de drum şi duceţi-vă în întâmpinarea lor şi le spuneţi: Noi suntem robii voştri. Încheiaţi dar legământ cu noi!3 Pâinile acestea erau calde în ziua când am plecat să venim la voi, iar acum iată s-au uscat şi s-au mucezit.4 " Aceste burdufuri de vin, pe care le-am umplut noi, iată-le s-au învechit; şi îmbrăcămintea noastră şi încălţămintea noastră s-au tocit de drumul cel foarte lung"".5 " Căpeteniile Israeliţilor au luat din merindele lor, dar n-au întrebat pe Domnul.6 Şi a făcut Iosua pace cu ei şi a încheiat cu ei legământ, ca să nu fie ucişi, iar căpeteniile obştii s-au legat faţă de ei cu jurământ.7 La trei zile însă, după ce au încheiat legământ cu dânşii, au auzit că sunt aproape de ei şi că trăiesc în ţinuturile cuvenite lor,8 Căci fiii lui Israel, plecând la drum, a treia zi au ajuns la cetăţile lor; iar cetăţile lor erau Ghibeonul, Chefira, Beerot şi Chiriat-Iearim.9 Iar Iosua şi fiii lui Israel nu i-au ucis, pentru că toate căpeteniile obştii li se juraseră pe Domnul Dumnezeul lui Israel. De aceea toată obştea lui Israel a început a cârti împotriva căpeteniilor.10 " Şi toate căpeteniile au zis către întreaga obşte: ""Noi ne-am jurat lor pe Domnul Dumnezeul lui Israel şi de aceea nu ne putem atinge de ei.11 "" Dar iată ce le vom face: să-i robim şi să-i păstrăm în viaţă, ca să nu ne ajungă mânia pentru jurământul cu care ne-am jurat lor"".
Exodus 20
1 And God spoke all these words, saying,2 “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.3 “You shall have no other gods before me.4 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.5 You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the LORD your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me,6 but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.7 “You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.9 Six days you shall labor, and do all your work,10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates.11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.12 “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you.13 “You shall not murder.14 “You shall not commit adultery.15 “You shall not steal.16 “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.17 “You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his male servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor's.”
Exodus 32
15 Then Moses turned and went down from the mountain with the two tablets of the testimony in his hand, tablets that were written on both sides; on the front and on the back they were written.16 The tablets were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, engraved on the tablets.
James 2
10 Pentru că oricine păzeşte toată Legea, dar greşeşte într-o singură poruncă, s-a făcut vinovat faţă de toate poruncile.11 Căci Cel ce a zis: Să nu săvârşeşti adulter! a zis şi: Să nu ucizi!; iar dacă tu nu săvârşeşti adulter, dar ucizi, ai ajuns călcător al Legii.12 Aşa să vorbiţi şi aşa să lucraţi, ca unii care veţi fi judecaţi prin legea libertăţii;
