9 Apoi diavolul l-a dus la Ierusalim, l-a aşezat în locul cel mai înalt al Templului şi i-a zis: „Dacă eşti Fiul lui Dumnezeu, aruncă-te de aici,10 fiindcă stă scris: Îngerilor săi le va porunci pentru tine, să te păzească11 şi: Te vor ridica pe mâini ca nu cumva să-ţi loveşti de piatră piciorul.”12 Dar Iisus i-a răspuns: „S-a zis: Să nu ispiteşti pe Domnul Dumnezeul tău!”

5 Then the devil took him to the holy city and set him on the pinnacle of the temple6 and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, “‘He will command his angels concerning you,’ and “‘On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.’”7 Jesus said to him, “Again it is written, ‘You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’”
