18 Şi, astfel, El îi poate ajuta pe cei ispitiţi, prin faptul că El însuşi a fost ispitit.
Hebrews 4
15 căci noi nu avem un mare preot care să nu poate suferi împreună cu noi, în slăbiciunile noastre, ci unul care a fost ispitit în toate, asemenea nouă, dar fără păcat.
Luke 4
1 And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness2 for forty days, being tempted by the devil. And he ate nothing during those days. And when they were ended, he was hungry.3 The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.”4 And Jesus answered him, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone.’”5 And the devil took him up and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time,6 and said to him, “To you I will give all this authority and their glory, for it has been delivered to me, and I give it to whom I will.7 If you, then, will worship me, it will all be yours.”8 And Jesus answered him, “It is written, “‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve.’”9 And he took him to Jerusalem and set him on the pinnacle of the temple and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down from here,10 for it is written, “‘He will command his angels concerning you, to guard you,’11 and “‘On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.’”12 And Jesus answered him, “It is said, ‘You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’”13 And when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from him until an opportune time.
Matthew 4
1 Iisus a fost dus de Duhul în pustie ca să fie ispitit de Diavol.2 După ce a postit patruzeci de zile şi patruzeci de nopţi, i s-a făcut foame.3 Ispititorul s-a apropiat şi i-a zis: „Dacă eşti Fiul lui Dumnezeu, porunceşte ca aceste pietre să se prefacă în pâine!”4 El însă, i-a răspuns: „Stă scris: Omul nu va trăi doar cu pâine, ci cu orice cuvânt care iese din gura lui Dumnezeu.”5 Atunci Diavolul l-a dus în Cetatea sfântă, pe acoperişul Templului6 şi i-a zis: „Dacă eşti Fiul lui Dumnezeu, aruncă-te, pentru că stă scris: Va porunci îngerilor săi să te poarte pe braţe ca nu cumva să-ţi loveşti piciorul de vreo piatră.”7 Iisus i-a răspuns: „De asemenea stă scris: Să nu ispiteşti pe Domnul Dumnezeul tău!”8 Diavolul l-a dus din nou pe un munte înalt. I-a arătat toate împărăţiile lumii în toată splendoarea lor9 şi i-a zis: „Toate acestea ţi le voi da, dacă te vei pleca înaintea mea şi mi te vei închina.”10 Atunci Iisus i-a zis: „Pleacă, Satano! Pentru că stă scris: Domnului Dumnezeului tău să i te închini şi numai lui să-i slujeşti!”11 Atunci Diavolul l-a lăsat, iar îngerii s-au apropiat şi-i slujeau.
